Rudolf Hess: The Uninvited Envoy

K coverRudolf Hess, Hitler’s Deputy Führer, Leader of the Nazi Party, flew alone in an unarmed aeroplane, through a night of fire and ruin, on the most dangerous flight of his life. This is an amazing true story of his secret peace mission in 1941, with plans to end the war but on Germany’s terms. Leasor tells how Hess flew his Messerschmitt to Scotland, parachuting to safety seconds before his plane crashed. A dramatic reconstruction of Hess’ landing, his capture, his desire for an audience with the Duke of Hamilton and his interrogation are recounted here, concluding with the Nuremberg Trials of 1946 when he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

1 Thought.

  1. In the book, ” A Tale of Two Murders”, it was proved that the person who died in Sandau Prison was not Hess ! Hess was a ‘lunger’, that is to say he received a bullet wound in the First World War, the bullet passed front to back through his body. After this person was arrested and medically examined, there were NO traces of any entry wound or exit wound on his body. Funny that eh ?
